The Roslindale Film Society is happy to announce the next screening is “The Friends of Eddie Coyle” (1973, director Peter Yates). This film was shot locally, and is the precursor to all other “Boston crime” films, such as “The Departed” and “The Town”.
Robert Mitchum stars as Eddie Coyle, a low level Boston gangster, who after his last crime has him looking at a long prison sentence for repeat offenses, decides to snitch on his friends to avoid jail time.
Doors are open at 6:15 pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The film screening begins at 7:00 p.m.
