American Ancestors and NEHGS together with us at the Boston Public Library present this virtual program in the American Stories, Inspiration Today author series.
You may know that Hamilton and Burr faced-off in America’s most famous duel and that they are both featured in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s breakout Broadway play Hamilton!, but do you know what really prompted the former Treasury Secretary of the United States and the sitting Vice President to settle their differences with guns blazing? Don’t miss hearing from author Rick Beyer about Rivals Unto Death, which explores the intricate thirty-year rivalry that led to their deadly encounter, following them through battlefields, courtrooms, bedrooms, and arguably the wildest presidential election in history–all the way to their day of destiny in Weekhawken, New Jersey. Just in time for the premiere of Hamilton! on Disney+ in July.
