Lets bag the easiest state high point in all of New England - Rhode Island! And we'll throw in the Connecticut-Massachusetts-Rhode Island tri-state marker because that is close by too.
Jerimoth Hill at 812 feet is the highest point in Rhode Island. It's accessible via a short path from the road. Out and back is 0.3 miles and about 7 feet of elevation gain (give or take). Here is the map of the hike.
The CT-MA-RI tri-state point is one of 38 tri-state markers accessible by land in the US. We'll do an easy 1 mile out and back with 89 feet of elevation gain.
What you will need for the hike:
It won't be a particularly strenuous hike, just wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing and bring a bottle of water.
After the hike we will drive back into Mass and chill at Treehouse Brewing in Charlton before heading back to Boston. This will be an opportunity to stock up on what is regarded as one of the best IPAs in the country and one of the most highly sought after beers in New England. Because they do not distribute, the only way you can obtain this beer is by visiting their brewery and waiting in (a hopefully) short line. They just added a Tap Room as well so we can chill and drink pints there. We can also bring in our own food and eat at the Brewery.
