Somerville, MA – Step into a century of Somerville history and leap into the future at Rewind, Record, PLAY!, a one-night-only retrofuturist fundraising cocktail event celebrating the Museum’s 100th anniversary. The celebration takes place on Thursday, October 23, from 5:30–8:30pm at The Crystal Ballroom in Davis Square and is sponsored by SOMERNOVA and an generous gift in memory of Amy Anthony.


Take a time-traveling journey through 100 years of Somerville’s music, culture, and images—and forward 100 years into the future with interactive experiences, entertainment, and cocktails.



Highlights include:

·    Acclaimed comedian and emcee Johnny Pizzi, bringing laughs, magic, and mentalism.

·    Isaac Asimov, reincarnated as a robot, returns to his Somerville neighborhood haunts from when he lived here (1949–1951) before joining the party for handshakes and photo ops.

·    TJ the DJ, who provided the soundtrack for Fenway Park’s 100th Anniversary, spinning music that spans Somerville’s past and present.

·    Interactive AI and vtubing stations, where guests can explore time-traveling exhibits spanning Somerville’s past, present, and imagined future.

·   A Time Capsule to be stored at the museum and opened in 100 years from now. Bring a Somerville-themed photo or piece of memorabilia to include, giving future residents a glimpse of what life in Somerville is like today.
