Mental practices aimed at the heights of human potential – what could be called “awakening” – have been around for thousands of years. Now, modern neuropsychology is beginning to reveal the underlying biological basis of these practices and higher states of consciousness.
The breakthroughs of the great teachers are not reserved for the chosen few; they are available to each of us. Remarkably, we can gradually strengthen the embodied basis of unshakable presence of mind, a courageous heart, and serenity in a changing world, even in extraordinary times such as these.
Join Dr. Rick Hanson to explore seven practices of awakening and what could be happening in the brain as we engage them – with a focus on resilient love and happiness in everyday life. These practices are for everyone, and no background in neuroscience or meditation is needed. There will be time for discussion and some experiential practice.
