This is a one of a kind collaborative entertaining and educational experience! For this event we will explore the beauty and importance of coral reefs around the world, and how climate change is driving their extinction and evolution.

For this event, we are collaborating with Dr. Sarah Davies, Assistant Professor of Biology at Boston University, who is going to present her research on coral reefs – their beauty and importance, and how climate change is driving both their extinction and evolution. Her talks will be interwoven with musical performances by the Marvento Duo (flutist Weronika Balewski and pianist Elizabeth Chladil), cellist Olivia J. P. Harris, pianist Sophia Subbayya Vastek, and electronic musician David Ibbett. The program will include George Crumb’s masterpieceVox Balaenae (Voice of the Whale), music by Joseph Schwantner, and two world premieres for piano and electronics by Norah Lorway and David Ibbett.

Additionally, we’re thrilled to have poet Sabrina Sadique, who will present original poetry written specifically for this event.
