Red Bull Arcade

Red Bull Arcade is a one-evening-only completely open gaming event taking place at Laugh Boston on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM.

Although located within the same building, Red Bull Arcade is not directly associated with PAX East.

Red Bull Arcade will feature a selection of award-winning New England-area independent gaming developers and their games. Those games and developer are:

Perception/The Deep End Games – a tense psychological first-person narrative that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams.

Super Slime Arena by JellyTeam – a minimalist party fighting game still in development. Each character has a single, unique attack and one hit point leading to fast-paced action and adaptive strategy.

King of the Hat – a super dynamic multiplayer experiences that pits your hats against your friends…hats. Currently looking for funding on Kickstarter.

APE OUT – a wildly intense and colorfully stylized smash ‘em up about primal escape. Build up nearly unstoppable momentum and use your captors as both weapons and shields to crush everyone on your path to freedom.

Red Bull Arcade will take place in an environment meant to mimic the inside of an enormous gaming cabinet, and will include a collection of old and new penny-arcade-style cabinets.

The gaming selections celebrate some of the original titles that adorned the nostalgic arcade environment, but also showcase an evolution of technology and user interface with titles like Dance, Dance, Revolution.

Classic Arcade Audio Challenge that pits gamers head-to-head in a mad dash to correctly match game themes and sounds with the titles they came from. Hourly prizes will be awarded to the high scorers.

Admission is free (18+), cash bar and DJ Durkin will be spinning til midnight. Space is limited.
