This spring, Cambridge Center for Adult Education presents the sixth annual Berta Golahny Awards and Recent Works Exhibition. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, April 19 at 42 Brattle Street. We invite CCAE community members to appreciate a competitive selection of student artwork, enjoy light refreshments, and celebrate the Visual Arts and Crafts department at CCAE. Additionally, three CCAE students will receive the Berta Golahny Student Award for artistic excellence.
Berta Golahny was a longtime visual arts teacher at CCAE from 1959 through 2001. The Golahny family makes generous donations supporting the Berta Golahny Awards in her memory and continues to inspire students in pursuing artistic education and achievement.
This year's Berta Golahny Awards jury includes Amy Golahny, professor at Boston College and Richmond Professor of Art History Emerita at Lycoming College; Bryan Ramey, Program Director of Visual Arts at CCAE; and annual guest juror Bahareh Safarani, artist and instructor at CCAE.
