We continue our Alpine exploration with a trip to Alsace, one of France's most unique growing regions with a fascinating cultural history!
Alsace's cultural history is reflected in its wine—a region that's been tossed back and forth between French and Germanic rule over the course of a millennium, it has winemaking traditions that marry the influences of both. Alsace is a great place for some of the world's most value-driven wines, but also home to some of its most valuable. We'll talk about it all!
As usual, we'll taste two wines and explore the history, food, and future of the region. Tickets include a one-hour Zoom sesh, 1 regional recipe, and 1 movie rec to set your Saturday up for success.
Please make sure to check your email for the zoom link one hour before class! If you sign up last-minute, we'll send another link out 5 minutes before class starts.
Where can I buy the wines for this class?
Featured wines will be available for purchase at Rebel Rebel one week prior to the class date. Order the wines here: https://rebelrebelsomervillewineonine.square.site
. You don't need to purchase both wines to enjoy the class! If you're remote, we can suggest alternatives, or you can tune in as a teetotaler and still learn something.
What's the link to join?
You'll receive a Zoom link to attend class the day of the event via email, so make sure your Eventbrite account email address is valid!
I'm not in the Boston area. How do I get the wines?
Contact your local wine store (try for a small business, not a liquor store/supermarket) and ask them if they have the wines in stock. If not, ask if they have any suggestions for alternatives that fit the bill (bonus points if they're natural wines!).
