Abstract:

This talk will examine some of the features of the last decade in Europe, which has been marked by political shifts to the far right, a magnified profile of refugee migration into and within Europe, and an increased articulation of the links between race, real and imagined borders, and the treatment of refugees. The talk will examine laws, policies and public discourse from several European countries and from European regional institutions.
