Participants will review some basics about the spiritual practice of tarot and explore the concept of queering the tarot through group discussion and hands-on practice with tarot reading. Our conversation will be centered on the book Queering the Tarot by Cassandra Snow.
- "In Queering the Tarot, Cassandra Snow deconstructs the meanings of the 78 cards explaining the ways in which each card might be interpreted against the norm. Queering the Tarot explores themes of sexuality, coming out, gender and gender-queering, sources of oppression and empowerment, and many other topics especially familiar to not-straight folks."
- You are invited to bring your tarot deck(s) or any other resources that you'd like to use and share with the group. You do not need to have a tarot deck to participate.
- Beginners and all levels of experience are welcome to attend. Tarot is for everyone!
- Ideal for ages 18+
- Pay-What-You-Can donation (suggested $30) to support the facilitator and more bookshop programs like this one!
What is tarot? Tarot is an entry point to spiritual growth and building deeper connections with others. I personally use tarot for self-reflection, emotional processing, and to inspire creativity. The imagery and symbolism in the deck of cards incorporate themes of psychology, humanity, and evolution.
