THE EMPOWERING IMPACT OF HERSTORY
Saturday, October 18 – 3PM
1 Meetinghouse Road, Truro
Tickets - $50
Join the Provincetown Film Society to spend a lovely afternoon with an extraordinary group of women story tellers whose work PFS is showcasing in our annual WOMEN'S WEEK FESTIVAL, as well as fellows from our WOMEN FILMMAKER'S RESIDENCY PROGRAM, the WOMEN'S MEDIA SUMMIT, and our annual FILM FINANCING FORUM.
The fall BBQ, hosted by Monique Yingling and John Yingling, will be rounded out by delicious food, and the musical stylings of Zoe Lewis. Filmmakers in attendance include Megan Rossman, director of our women’s week spotlight feature documentary THE ARCHIVETTES, award-winning shorts filmmaker Sini Anderson (Catherine Opie b 1961); Madeleine Olnek director of the Molly Shannon-helmed WILD NIGHTS WITH EMILY; Andrea Meyerson, with the crowd-pleaser CLAMBAKE; Film Financing Forum filmmakers Maggie Rizzi (ANN MAGUIRE: AN AMERICAN HERO); Mae Gammino (Sherente-Being Thunder); Lise King (Heroin Cape Cod, USA) and Women Filmmaker Residency Fellow Wiebke von Carolsfeld (THE SAVER).
Contributions from this event will go towards funding PFS's Women Filmmaker's Residency Program.
The Women's Week Fall BBQ is part of a full line-up of Women's Week Film Festival events. Please visit www.provincetownfilm.org to see the full schedule of screenings and events.
