Empowering imagination and relaxation through music, Project Daydream is an experience by Maria Finkelmeier with Timothy Hall. The 30 minute work features voice, marimba, saxophone and electronic music elements while discovering the reverberation and shadows of Boston’s iconic Cyclorama. Through five segments, listeners will be encouraged to explore their breath, their joy, their support system, and their own mantra. The music will encourage relaxation by infusing repetitive phrases, heartbeat rhythms, and soaring melodies. The program flow, developed in collaboration with Susan Lovett of Hands to Heart Center, takes listeners on a journey from a space of personal reflection to collective rejuvenation.
Join us online on November 2, the eve of the US 2020 Election Day, to pause, breathe, and calm your psyche. Find a comfortable and calming space to embrace the work, and let’s collectively experience the art, align our intentions, and prepare to vote. The work will be streamed at 8pm via a link distributed with your ticket purchase, with an optional Zoom reception with the artists following the event.
Following this November premiere, the Project Daydream video will be privately streamed to community centers and schools through the Celebrity Series of Boston Neighborhood Arts program and Kadence Arts, offering a special moment for our youth as they navigate the pandemic and difficulties that have plagued this year.
