Earth. Wind. Fire. Water. These interconnected elements are the seeds for all things that are planted, take root, and grow—from plants and people, to ideas and communities. This spring, join our community for “Prakriti: Dances of Life,” a dynamic exploration of the elements of nature through Kathak dance.


Featuring over 100 dancers of all levels from Chhandika, Boston’s leading institute of Kathak dance, “Prakriti” invokes the art form’s technical mastery and storytelling to bring to life the richness of human experience. Kathak also engages the audience through live musicians and meaningful narration.


Under the artistic direction of Gretchen Hayden and senior teachers, the performances weave rhythmic footwork with expressive grace—showcasing the best of the dance tradition while illuminating the dedication of Chhandika’s students.
