A Zoom invitation email will go out to pre-registered students 1 hour before the session, and again 15 minutes before the session begins. Please make sure we have the correct email address on file for you so you receive your invitation! Contact the studio at 617-661-6565 with any questions.
Anita and Tristan are ready to try hosting the Poetry Potluck on Zoom. We're not sure how to make this work best, so consider this our Beta Test. Join us on Sunday, August 23, at 7:30 pm for about an hour of reading each other poetry. We usually sit in a circle and take it in turns to read a poem that moves us, that we love, that speaks to this moment in time. The potluck component is the serendipity that reading to each other brings, how our offerings come together to create a perfect whole. We hope we can create the same mysterious perfection in this new format.
On Zoom, we want to try having a list of people who will read poems beforehand, so please register and then email Tristan saying you'd like to read a poem. We ask that you make sure you will be able to attend before emailing Tristan, so please email the morning of the event, Sunday, August 23. The first 30 or so people to email on Sunday morning will be on the list to read a poem. We ask that the selections are relatively short - something like 25-30 lines, or less than a printed page.
We usually bring snacks, so please have your own snack handy! We also usually make those lovely little noises of assent and compassion, and we can't figure this one out on Zoom, but the hand clapping icon may be helpful! We will have the chat on unless it gets distracting. Unless you are reading a poem, we ask that you stay muted. Unless your video makes your connection unstable, it will be good to see each other in the Zoom world. We can't wait to try this out!
