We all know play is important for kids. So important, in fact, that it’s been recognized by the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights as a right for every child.
But what we don’t talk about so much is the fact that play is essential for adults, too. In this 3-part series, adults will be given the opportunity to allow their inner child to come out and play in a wonderfully fun and enlivening yoga experience that will help adults reconnect with their feelings of joy and playfulness. Class themes included in this series are: Find Your Buried Treasure, Open Your Heart to Adventure, and Chart Your Path Home. Not only will students have a blast in class, but they’ll also walk away with tools and practices to that will help them bring a sense of playful joy back into their daily lives on a regular basis.
If the idea of playful fun isn’t enough to convince you to take part in this series, consider this. Research demonstrates that incorporating playful activities into our adult lives:
• improves brain function
• stimulates the mind and boosts creativity
• improves relationships and our connection with others
• keeps us feeling young and energetic
• relieves stress and promotes well-being
Play has always been Elizabeth’s North Star and guiding light. It is the direction she heads in when her body, mind, or life feel off-track. Finding a sense of fun and adventure—especially during challenging times—always sets things right for her.
The idea of Play-Yoga was born when Elizabeth noticed how excited adults became when she told them about her kids yoga classes. The idea of “playing yoga” lit up their faces and energized them. Play feels good, which allows us to do more good. Research shows this applies to every human being on this planet.
