AERONAUT, in partnership with WGBH (Boston’s PBS affiliate and local NPR station) and 99.5 WCRB, Classical Radio Boston, is thrilled to invite you to our long-rumored pindrop sessions! This month's event will feature Igor Stravinsky's thrilling "A Soldiers Tale," performed by the gifted musicians of Phoenix Ensemble, fantastic choreographer Jenny Oliver & the voice of "the most interesting man in the world," legendary Boston actor Will Lyman.
a new, ticketed performance series (early bird entry is only ten bucks which supports the artists!) taking place the first Sunday night of every month at the AERONAUT taproom in Somerville, shining light on the ridiculous pleasure of listening, featuring a soft focus on classical music. No stodginess. No competing sound. Shared silence. And sweet musical goodness in our steel-tanked fermentation garden. Plus a sweet after-party hang with the musicians!
The pindrop sessions are co-hosted by 99.5 WCRB’s delightful weekday afternoon host, our dear friend Mr. Chris Voss!
Our last two events sold out quickly! The Oct. 1 debut earned this photo wrap from Scout Somerville and this great review from the Boston Musical Intelligencer, plus this recent Boston Globe article! (Thx friends!)
pindrop #3 will feature Igor Stravinsky's incredible L'HISTOIRE DU SOLDAT ("A SOLDIER'S TALE").
This performance will feature Phoenix in a collaboration with some truly terrific local talents, including choreographer Jenny Oliver (Connections Dance Theater) and actor Will Lyman, ("King Lear" with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company on Boston Common, the voice behind PBS Frontline, and Dos Equis's "The Most Interesting Man in the World" ads.)
Early bird tickets: always $10! We'll have a limited number of these on sale UNTIL Friday, Nov. 17.
Regular admission: $20
Regular admission + special pindrop sessions glassware + included beer pour: $25
PLEASE NOTE: All tickets come with a one drink minimum (honor system) to support the sustainability of the series.
Our lives are short; our days mucked and muddled. We crave community and connection, and the thrill of sharing genuinely beautiful experiences: a quiet room, a fleeting, incandescent moment; a shared memory over something mysterious.
In the spirit of addressing this dire social need, AERONAUT proudly presents...
Aiming for the unrepeatable, pindrop will present some of most individual musicians and ensembles in New England – and a few national can’t-missers. You might hear a string quartet, a women’s choir, a symphony orchestra, or a lonesome country singer. You might hear us mash up two completely different types of performances in one night. Everyone we’re fortunate enough to present on this series has something unique and beautiful to offer your ears and souls. In a brewery.
Drop your days and distractions. Recharge your beauty batteries...
...listen for the pindrop!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
We are only allowing people 21 or older into this event.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Thankfully, Somerville allows free non-resident street parking on Sundays, and there's also a free lot at 15 Tyler St.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Feel free to e-mail Jason McCool at firstname.lastname@example.org
with questions regarding the event or entire pindrop series! He also enjoys obscure cocktail recipes, should you happen to know any.
