There is a deep need for effective products that support administrators and teachers in their goal to incorporate personalized learning models into their classrooms and schools. So, how are schools and companies working together in ways that are beneficial to both parties, along with the students they are looking to serve? Come find out - whether you are a teacher or administrator trying to understand if your programs are working, a new company trying to conduct your own research, or an edtech enthusiast looking for proof of what works (or all three) - ways to conduct supportive research and use existing research to design new products in ways that will meet the needs of students, educators and administrators.

During this session, participants will:
Explore research on personalized learning tools and how to build a research program that benefits both the school and the company
Examine how to find research-based products and/or what it means to be a research-based product
Outline ways that efficacy research provides the evidence-based solutions that will drive education forward
Evaluate the research base provided by educational products and how to assess the quality or effectiveness
Identify ways to partner with educators to conduct research studies

Michele Morrisey-Smith, Ed.D., Reading Resource Specialist at Brockton Public Schools
