Chef Patty and Chef Marco have run the longest running Dumpling Party for 10 years!
The event takes place at the historic Windsor Inn Guest House, Cambridge, the oldest free-standing home in the Central sq area. Don't worry, even the ghosts love dumplings! :)
First, we have the "Nosh", where we taste from a selection of Patty's favorite seasonal street foods including, but not limited to baozi, dumplings, Asian salads, etc. Guests are welcome to BYOB.
The first skillet focuses in on how to roll out our wrappers. We'll practice with scallion pie dough, and perfect our technique, before moving on to the real deal. We will also cook the dough on the griddle, as it is delicious! During this phase, we ask each student to tell us a little about their food history, where they may compete for free Patty Chen t shirts
Next it's time for rolling, stuffing and folding, and 3 distinct fillings: pork and ginger, pork soup dumplings, and vegan. Each round has a break for stuffing the students, too! We will cover 5 or 6 shapes, that you can practice at home. If you haven't tried soup dumplings, before, you are in for a treat!
If there is time, our Sunday matinee show features a dessert bao bonus round :) and additional trivia questions for more free merch (rolling pins, single hand strainers, magnets...)
Finally, the closing ceremony, where we encourage students to take home left-overs (if there are any!)
