You won't want to miss this one-day celebration and harbor adventure to Georges and Spectacle Islands as we celebrate the kick-off of the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park season with a Free Ferry Day! Festivities for Free Ferry Day begin at 9am on Long Wharf North with a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick-off the 2018 island season.
The celebration continues with children’s activities throughout the day, including beach games and activities, live music, stations for face painting, temporary tattoos, and crafts. But the fun doesn't stop there! Upon arriving to the islands an array of activities await, including exploring beaches, taking a ranger-guided tour or hike, enjoying a picnic, learning about the history of the islands, visiting Fort Warren, and enjoying panoramic views of Boston.
Free Ferry Tickets to the Boston Harbor Islands are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets tend to go quickly for this event, so be sure to come early to secure your free day of fun on the islands!
Free Ferry Tickets to the Boston Harbor Islands are valid only on Saturday, May 26. Tickets are available beginning at 8:30 am on May 26. Ferries will depart Long Wharf at 10:00 am, 10:30 am, noon, 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm. Return ferries arrive into Long Wharf between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
