Boston’s historic Emerson Colonial Theatre is hosting a strictly limited pre-Broadway engagement of “Paranormal Activity,” the smash-hit, Olivier Award-nominated new play inspired by the “Paranormal Activity” film franchise.
Join us for a screening of the original 2009 film, written and directed by Oren Peli and brought to the screen by Blumhouse and Solana Films. Soon after moving into a suburban tract home, Katie (Katie Featherston) and Micah (Micah Sloat) become increasingly disturbed by what appears to be a supernatural presence. Hoping to capture evidence of it on film, they set up video cameras in the house but are not prepared for the terrifying events that follow.
Following the screening, Here & Now co-host Robin Young will moderate a conversation with playwright Levi Holloway (“Grey House”) about adapting the iconic found-footage horror phenomenon for the stage, bringing fear to life in a live theater setting and what audiences can expect from this chilling new production before it heads to Broadway.
