Join Guild artists for a Paint Out in the Allyn Cox Reservation in Essex, MA on Monday, June 12th! Hosted by the Guild and open to Associate Artists, or any and all interested amateur and professional painters. This event is sure to be a lot of fun. Artists will meet in the morning for an early day of painting and camaraderie. Paint-Outs are just for fun. Bring your own easel and painting materials. (Rain date June 14th).
The Allyn Cox Reservation is the spectacular headquarters location of the Greenbelt, a nonprofit land trust conserving nearly 18,000 acres of scenic landscape. The site offers expansive views of a gorgeous New England salt marsh, with an open field, bordered by hedgerow, on the edge of a tidal estuary in the Great Marsh ecosystem.
This event accompanies the exhibition, Creating a Masterpiece: The Artful Life of David P. Curtis. David Curtis's Saturday workshops always drew a crowd to the Cox Reservation, where artists gathered to paint and learn within the flourishing group he established. Join us as we revisit the reservation, a site of artistic development for so many students and friends, to celebrate David's bright legacy of inclusivity, teaching, and artistic camaraderie.
The Reservation is located at 82 Eastern Avenue, Essex, MA. For more information on the Cox Reservation, parking and trails, visit ecga.org.

Curtis will feature a collection of almost 40 paintings, paying homage to a revered artist, cherished educator, devoted father, loving husband, and an influential leader within the vibrant Cape Ann Art community.
