The National Society of Colonial Dames of America in The Commonwealth of Massachusetts invites you to a public lecture on “OVERCOMING UNCIVIL DIALOGUE: New Lessons from the Puritans” at 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Held in Suffolk University’s auditorium at 120 Tremont St. the program will feature Dr. Robert Allison, Professor of History at Suffolk, and Dr. Dale Kuehne, chair of the Department of Ethics, Economics, and the Common Good at St. Anselm’s College, Manchester, N.H. A reception will follow the talks, where Boston weekday Puritan 1635 dresses from each of 3 socioeconomic classeshand-sewn by dame Ruby-Grace Miller will be displayed and contrasted with a Virginia gown of the same period. Other sponsors of this program are The Boston Athenaeum, Partnership of Historic Bostons, and New England Beginnings. This program is part of the Dames’ Good Neighbor Series, a collaboration of Boston organizations that preserve and promote a knowledge of and appreciation for our Colonial heritage.
