Abigail Ogilvy Gallery is excited to announce the solo exhibition of artwork by Natalia Wróbel. In this multi-sensory exhibition, Wróbel brings the viewer on a journey into hyper-saturated abstracted psychological landscapes. The paintings read as mystical mirages that on one glance come together and another break apart, in a continuation of her interest in forms appearing to be moving and still at the same time. This vibrating duality is echoed in the use of sound as a critical component of this exhibition. Through this new body of work, Wrobel encourages the viewer to experience their own inner transformation through heightened observation and presence.
Wróbel studied art and art history at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, US, the New York Studio School, and the Lorenzo de'Medici Institute in Florence. Her paintings are featured in private collections around the world and have been on view at Art Fairs including Art Basel: Miami, Art South Hampton, and Texas Contemporary. She received the New York Studio School Mercedes Matter Fellowship in 2012, and the Murray Art Prize in 2015. In 2016 and 2017, her work was selected for inclusion at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston Auction. In 2017, Wrobel completed a painting residency at the Berlin Art Institute. After living in Amsterdam, NL for the past year, Wrobel now lives and works in Cambridge, MA. All works were created specifically for this exhibition and will be unveiled to the public for the first time.
