Opening Friday, September 6, 2019, the solo exhibition features a site-related installation comprised of 120 light tubes, yellow mirrored Plexiglas, photographic imagery, and a blue PVC strip curtain.
In the exhibition, Baclawski questions the notion of boundaries. When and where does the art exhibition begin? What can be touched, traced, or felt? Where does the exhibition end? The immersive installation will challenge the viewer’s senses, understanding of color, and comfort with imperfection. Awash with a mix of deep cobalt blues and brilliant reflective yellows the piece, with religious iconography, will push literal and figurative edges. In the process of creating the installation, Fringe became a deeply personal work for the artist.
This event is a part of SoWa Boston First Friday and is free and open to the public.
