THE OPENING RECEPTION
Join us for the opening of this fantastic exhibition! It features 24 modern re-imaginings of the classic cuckoo clock, designed by students and faculty from the Swiss University, HEAD Geneva. The evening will include a lecture given by the Dean of Studies at HEAD Geneva, Lysianne Léchot Hirt. The show runs May 28 - July 12.
EXHIBITION BACKGROUND
The clockwork and décor of the Swiss cuckoo clock has always been emblematic of Swiss know-how and meticulous attention to quality and detail. Originally, these small clocks evoked the delightful simplicity of an idealized agrarian life, set in the fresh mountain air. Does the iconic Swiss cuckoo clock serve only as folklore and tourist-bait? No! It is so much more. Students and faculty at HEAD Geneva have re-imagined the cuckoo clock in 24 iterations.
POSTER CONTEST
While at the reception, enter to win a poster design contest... the winner will have the chance to travel to Switzerland to visit four of its top art + design schools! The trip is care of SWISS International Airlines, and Rail Europe. Participants must be present at the reception to enter the contest. Poster designs should reference the exhibition.
