As part of Bach in the Subways week, all are invited to sit in on a Saturday working rehearsal of Bach Cantata BWV 124, followed by an informal conversation with some of the musicians. Though the event is free, we ask that people planning to attend reserve their seats.

What is Emmanuel Music's Bach Cantata Series?
Why are Bach cantatas special?
How does Emmanuel Music prepare cantatas?
Join us as The Orchestra and Chorus of Emmanuel Music prepares Bach Cantata BWV 124, Meinen Jesum laß ich nicht, conducted by Artistic Director Ryan Turner. The audience will hear the rehearsal for the following day's performance, and observe the techniques that enable Emmanuel Music to present the weekly Bach Cantata Series. Emmanuel Music has been performing Bach cantatas in a traditional liturgical setting since its late founder Craig Smith began the tradition in 1970. This is an opportunity to witness the Emmanuel Music ensemble from which many of Boston’s finest performers emerge. After the rehearsal there will be an informal talk back. There is no charge for admission, but reservations are requested.
