Happy August poets! ☀️ For the first Wednesday of the month we have a feature from beloved community member (& former BPS social media manager) Kat Anderson! And before the show is our first Wednesday workshop “Don’t Let Your Zines Be Dreams” with Ellie Erheart!
FEATURE INFO: Kat Anderson (She/They) is a Panamanian poet born, raised, and living in New York’s Hudson Valley. Her first collection “Etymology of Break” was released with Game Over Books in May, 2026. Her previous work was most frequently shared within the privacy of Boston Poetry Slam’s weekly show, where she was a regular attendee, volunteer, and board member for 3 years.


WORKSHOP INFO: Explore all the creative possibilities in the world of zines! From simple DIY to professionally printed chapbooks to more complicated DIY, we’ll talk about it all. We’ll also go through the full process of how to create a classic 8-page zine and discuss different approaches you can take for more involved zine projects. Lots of examples of zines by Ellie and other awesome creators will be there for your perusal!

Accessibility information: The portion of the Cantab where the poetry show is hosted is accessible by one flight of stairs. There is seating available as well as standing room. We highly encourage the use of masks and have them available for anyone who wants one, but they are not required, per venue management.
There are two single-stall, gender neutral bathrooms. Both require stepping onto a slight ledge to access. No flashing lights are used and no music is played over the speakers throughout the show; in general, the room is dimly lit/dark throughout, but can often get loud from conversations occurring. Please message us with any specific questions and we will get back to you ASAP.
