This meetup is for musicians who would enjoy performing at an open mic held on weekend late mornings in the Cambridge/Somerville area and audience members who would enjoy them. Our vision for an open-mic for morning people is to create an atmosphere that is safe, supportive, fun and inclusive, of different kinds of music and people. First-timers and any kind of inter-generational collaborations are strongly encouraged. While the focus is on acoustic music, all genres and ages are welcome. Poetry, stand-up, or other kinds of performance art welcome, as well.

The goal, over time, is to build a community of like-minded performers and audience members who enjoy them. To help create a safe atmosphere, we ask that members following the following guidelines.
To help give more people the opportunity to perform, each performer may perform two songs or up to 10 minutes of time on-stage, whichever comes first.
To ensure that there is an audience for all performers, if you perform we ask that you then stay for the entire meet-up. We encourage you to bring friends as audience members!
To encourage younger people to attend, we ask that acts target a 'PG-13' rating.
To help get the group started, I am currently paying the monthly Meetup group fee out of my own pocket. At events I plan to pass a basket for donations.
Finally, members are requested not to use the group for the promotion of commercial products or services.
