Join us for our 20th consecutive week in Zoom, singing and playing songs in a theme, category, era, or genre. This week we are celebrating the 50th birthday or anniversary of songs that burst into the scene, born in 1970. Check out the list of songs and links to song sheets.
Anyone, anywhere in the world is welcome to join as active participant (perform or play or sing along) or inactive participant (lurk, ghost, background, watch, listen).
Please register in advance via the link in the event website (the blog post) to get the Zoom meeting ID, password, and URL. We will send you an e-mail before the song session with list of line-up (chosen songs).
If you'd like to request a song to perform (on one microphone with other participants muted), please use the Google Form on that webpage.
The event is recorded for editing and replay on Brookline Interactive Group's live stream a week later. If you don't want to be seen, simply switch off your video cam or hide your video.
Enter the Zoom meeting as early as you like but newcomers are invited to enter early to introduce selves and chit chat. We can usually fit 10 songs, so performers are also requested to enter earlly to set up, check on lighting and sound etc. We start promptly at 3 pm with a 5 minute warm-up on your ukulele.
The next session after this one is Thursday 3rd September 2020, with replays on 20th and 27th August 2020.
About the Host:
The author of "Ukuglobal's Happy Helpful Guide to the Ukulele," Anne Ku moved all her ukulele classes to Zoom as a result of the pandemic. She started the weekly one-hour session of Three Chord Thursdays as a way to bring new ukulele players the experience of learning and exploring new songs, overcoming stage fright, and the opportunity to practice.
