We think of melody as a series of notes, one after another, defined by the distance in pitch (interval) and duration. What makes a catchy melody? A great melody that withstands the test of time? An instant hit?


This 8-week course in Zoom is scheduled for 8 Mondays at 7:30 PM EDT from 1st May 2023, with a break on Memorial Day 29th May. The last class is on 26th June 2023.


It is ideal for anyone curious about song writing or using the right terminology in describing and analyzing music.


Other music theory courses in this series include Harmony, Applied Music Theory, Music Theory of the Beatles, and the prerequisite Intro to Music Theory (a.k.a. Music Literacy).


ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR


Anne Ku has been teaching music theory at all levels. She offers free taster workshops from time to time -- next one is on songwriting on 19th April 2023.


Tuition for all 8 weeks is $250 and includes all handouts and class video recordings.
