Reading music is a fundamental skill for any musician.Come learn how this vital skill can grow your confidence as a musician from building your capacity to sight read, learn new techniques, and play new styles with more ease. We’ll cover all of the groundwork of music theory from reading notes, rests, and beats to understanding scales and chords. Make more sense of music with the ability to finally understand why certain combinations of notes sound better than others. You will be able to more formally analyze work from some of your favorite artists and maybe even get your own creative juices flowing whether you compose, arrange, transpose, or transcribe music!

8 Tuesdays until 1st June 2021, except 20th April 2021 (no class).

STUDENT FEEDBACK:
Anne Ku is an amazing music teacher. She is enthusiastic, skillful, knowledgeable and welcoming. Her classes are lively and fun. She can explain musical concepts in a way that is very accessible. I highly recommend her classes, and have already signed up for another one!

Anne is a great teacher. She was helpful with practical advice, including ways to make a difficult passage more playable. She's also incredibly adept at explaining concepts of music theory so that an untrained strummer like me could benefit. The course was exactly as described. I've been playing uke for about a year with no formal music education. She really makes it fun!

Don’t hesitate to take a Ukelele or theory class on Zoom with Anne. She is a master at giving these classes and also makes it fun.
