Once Modern is a historical collection and pop-up gallery located in Coolidge Corner. Comprised of rare prints & maps from the 1800s, the exhibit features curious images of Boston and New England during the Industrial Revolution. Many pieces depict once "cutting-edge" scenes of Boston's old hotels, New England maps, factories and inventions of the time.
This private collection has been curated by local artist Leonie Little-Lex as a unique display of both art and history. Hosted by Boston Realty Online in Brookline, the gallery is open by appointment until May 19.
Fundraiser and Reception: Friday, May 12th from 7-9 pm with complimentary beer tastings from a local Boston brewery. A rare print of a New England brewery from 1882 will be out for viewers to read and see up close. Each print will be for sale with Boston Realty Online donating their proceeds to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts.
