Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra welcomes back principal conductor Kevin Rhodes for its anniversary finale, opening with the third movement from Michael Daugherty’s 1999 opus Sunset Strip, which takes the listener on a vivid tour of this famed Los Angeles locale.  Aaron Copland’s sober and jazzy Clarinet Concerto comes next, featuring stellar BSO clarinetist Thomas Martin, in a piece originally composed for Benny Goodman.  Also on the program is Mozart’s energetic Symphony No. 40 – our nod toward Pro Arte’s forty-year history.  This concert, and our anniversary season, concludes with the world premiere of a festive new work by Cambridge composer Howard Frazin in honor of Pro Arte’s birthday.
