Join us Friday, October 10th for “Off the Rails”

Since the 1990s, graffiti artists have turned freight trains around the world into rolling galleries of art. Recognized by many as the ultimate democratic expression of ideas, graffiti cries out to be seen in a natural environment. Unfortunately, bringing a 50-foot, 25-ton box car into a modern gallery is impractical, but using miniatures Elizabeth Kirby and Jamie O’Neill have found a way to showcase this art in the context in which it was meant to be seen. Boston writers from the past 35 years have been invited to reproduce their work on a smaller scale – HO and O models to be precise – as well as miniature recreations of some of Boston’s most tagged landmarks. Over 40 graffiti writers confirmed! Join them at the Off the Rails show at Blue Triangle on October 10th.
