NorthBeast Regional Poetry Slam, a weekend- long festival and slam poetry competition put on by Boston Poetry Slam, a non-profit based in Cambridge. This year, we are expanding NorthBeast from two days to a three day festival, beginning Friday afternoon (07/31) and ending Sunday night (8/2) in order to allow for more events and time for everyone to attend the multiple slams in our schedule. On Friday & Saturday, the event will take place at the Foundry in Kendall Square, as it has taken place in previous years. On Sunday, we will partner with several organizations across Central Square, such as the Central Square Theatre, to broaden our reach and include more of Cambridge’s own registered cultural district.
While the main focus of the festival is our Poetry Slam tournament- we have sixteen slam teams competing, ranging from local Boston teams to folks as far as Colorado!- there are opportunities and activities for everyone. From poetry veterans to those just learning about the art form. NorthBeast offers something we are all in need right now: a sense of community throughout art. Attendees can look forward to participating in chapbook exchanges, poetry readings, and workshops taught by esteemed local poets.
Tickets are on sale now! Although Eventbrite doesn't have an option for sliding scale pricing, we want to give this option to people who are unable to pay for a full price ticket. promo code "north25beast" gives 25% off.
