Join the Theatre CoLaboratory at Hovey Players for our inaugural production - Marsha Norman’s Pultizer-winning intense and lyrical ‘Night Mother, directed by Michelle Fisher, and featuring Kimberly Blaise and Jenny Fielding.
A small house on an isolated country road, shared by Jessie and her mother, Thelma. As the play begins, Jessie asks for her father’s service revolver and calmly announces that she intends to kill herself. The next hour and a half reveals truths, lies, and what makes meaning for a life.
June 21, 22, 28, & 29 at 8pm, and Sun June 23 at 2pm at Hovey Players in Waltham.

Content Advisory: We specifically chose 'Night Mother as the first CoLaboratory project because the text deals with difficult and challenging subjects. However, audiences should be aware that suicide is a major theme of the show, and the text involves extended engagement with the subject of suicidality. There is also a sound cue involving a gunshot. While we believe theatre provides a means to engage with uncomfortable subjects in a supportive space, if you feel your emotional safety may be compromised by these factors, we invite you to join us at a future CoLaboratory production.
