The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry is proud to announce the launch of The Port of Wonder, a month-long celebration transforming downtown Newburyport into a festive holiday destination from November 30 through December 25, 2025.

 

Getting There from Boston: Take the MBTA Commuter Rail (Newburyport/Rockport Line) from North Station to Newburyport. From Newburyport Station, you can either walk into downtown or grab a quick Uber to reach the heart of the festivities.


Led by the newly established Downtown Business Advisory Council of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this collaborative initiative brings together local businesses, community organizations, and residents to create a magical holiday experience that celebrates the best of Newburyport — from shopping and dining to family traditions and waterfront charm.

 

A Month of Celebration:

 

The celebration will begin with the lighting of the Market Square Christmas Tree, adorned by Red Nose Decorators (Fanuel Hall Decorators), and continue with weekend programming designed to drive engagement, joy, and commerce throughout the downtown district ( State Street, Inn Street, Pleasant Street, Market Square, Water Street to the Tannery).

 

“We are thrilled to bring The Port of Wonder to life as our first project under the Downtown Business Advisory Council,” said Nancy Caswell, President of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “This effort showcases the strength of collaboration among our business community and reflects Newburyport’s spirit of togetherness, creativity, and joy.”
