Release 2019 and invite in 2020 with this nurturing restorative practice led by Kerry Hinds and Dina Abbondante. The calming vibrations of the cello performed by Tara Tresner-Kirsch, music director of the Melrose Unitarian Universalist Church, will lead you into a profound state of relaxation.
Energetic assists in the form of Reiki will be offered throughout the practice to balance and restore energy. Reiki translates to "universal life energy" and is a Japanese form of non-invasive bodywork that works on the energetic field. Dina and Kerry will add Reiki energy to the body through light touch (usually on the head, shoulders, knees, and feet), invoking calm and a sense of release. Reiki can also be performed above the body, involving no touch at all. Let this calming practice set the stage for your upcoming year!
*** Please note that this workshop involves touch. Let Dina or Kerry know if you would like to receive Reiki above the body prior to the beginning of the workshop.
Tara Tresner-Kirsch is a Boston-area musician who has been regularly practicing yoga since 2015 and playing cello since 1993. Tara loves creating meditative spaces in her work as a Unitarian-Universalist church musician and is excited to bring this skill and passion into the yoga studio.
