Armenians played a major role in the development and expansion of photography across Ottoman lands. Held in conjunction with the Museum's Reimagining A Lost Homeland exhibit in the Adele & Haig Der Manuelian Galleries, this symposium will present the wealth of research being done in this particular vein of photography studies and will also highlight the rich resources and activities of Project SAVE Armenian Photograph Archives. The event will be moderated by exhibit creator Armen T. Marsoobian,, who is a Professor of Philosophy at Southern Connecticut State University.
