Like Boston, the fabled town of Concord is filled to the brim with loads of dynamic and intriguing history going all the way back to colonial times. Home to legendary Revolutionary figures, writers, philosophers, and more, to truly experience Concord is to better understand our American roots. In addition to all that history, Concord also has a sweet side. For example, did you know that Concord has an important connection to your favorite grape juice? That a former town resident and notable American author had such a sweet tooth, she penned a tale about a girl finding herself in a real life Candy Land? And that Henry David Thoreau is often credited with inventing raisin bread? Through this tour, we’ll get into some of the more relatable history of this storied town, and as with all our Cocoa Beantown tours and events, we believe that chocolate makes everything better. On this historical walking tour with chocolate, expect to come away with some new notable trivia in your noggin’ and some delicious chocolate samples in your tummy as we see what today’s local business owners are doing to leave their mark on the town of Concord.
