Neil deGrasse Tyson is the fifth head since 1935 of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship.

He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.

Inspired by Dr. Tyson’s bestselling book, Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization, here he offers a wake-up call to society that recasts some of the most discussed and debated topics of our times — war, politics, religion, truth, beauty, gender, race — each an artificial battlefield on the landscape of life, and returns them via a scientific lens that fosters accountability, wisdom, and especially peace in the service of civilization.
