Meet iconic species like blue-footed boobies, hammerhead sharks, giant tortoises, and other amazing wildlife that call the Galápagos Islands home. Then we go on assignment with National Geographic Explorer and disease ecologist Sarah Knutie to explore the groundbreaking science of the air, land, and sea with Darwin’s finches and shark nurseries.
About Sarah Knutie
Sarah Knutie is a disease ecologist who studies the effects of invasive parasites on Darwin’s finches in the Galápagos Islands, where she has worked since 2010. She is an associate professor at the University of Connecticut. She has a passion for teaching, especially when she can incorporate hands-on fieldwork, and she mentors an amazing group of female scientists.
