Envision opening space in one area of your body and just as it happens, the information is instantaneously forwarded throughout your entire system. This is the power and influence of our muscles and fascia when moving in a balanced way. When we're not moving in a balanced way, discomfort appears and sometimes stays put for a while. To release chronic tensions and restricted motion, myofascial release is a wonderful antidote.


In this workshop, we will explore a full body sequence that combs through common layers of tension, as well as muscular trigger points to encourage pain relief and deeper range of motion. Myofascial release is a series of bodywork techniques that can be applied to the muscles and fascia to open up the body landscape more fully.


Techniques include slow, sustained pressure into soft tissues with foam rollers, blocks and therapy spheres, followed by Yoga stretches and self massage. This blended approach leads to increased malleability, pain reduction and spacious function for the whole body.


Myofascial release is accessible for newcomers and seasoned practitioners alike. Students are encouraged to have 2 therapy balls (tennis or pinky balls will do), 1 block, carpeted surface or Yoga mat to practice on, along with any other bodywork props that are preferable. Plan to wear comfortable clothing and have water handy.
