Myofascia refers to the interlaced structures of muscles (myo) and connective tissues (fascia). Fascia is called the 'web of life' because it provides physical support, space to move and the fluid transfer of weight for the whole body. Fascia is the flexible scaffolding that keeps us level with the horizon.
In this workshop, students will learn how to relieve muscle discomforts and areas of tension, increase joint stability, and open up space in the tissues with self-care muscle release techniques.
We will explore a full-body sequence that combs the layers of your muscles and connective tissues with detailed placement of tennis balls (or any small therapy ball) as well as site-specific stretches.
Students will be encouraged to move at their own pace, pay close attention to sensation, and adjust their positions as needed to experience broad spectrum relief in the body and nervous system.
No experience needed to attend. Please bring 2 tennis balls, a long sock, paper/pen, water and a yoga mat. Please also wear comfortable clothing. Students will receive a detailed handout following the workshop.
