Concord Conservatory of Music Presents Mozart and the Masters of the Baroque

On Friday, November 9th at 7:30 pm, the Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) presents Mozart and the Masters of the Baroque, the second concert of the 2018-2019 CCM Concert Series. An exciting evening of Mozart, Myslivecek, Vivaldi, Porpora and more. Dazzling and virtuosic baroque music, including opera arias written for the 18-century superstar male castrato soprano Farinelli, featuring members of the outstanding faculty of the Concord Conservatory of Music— cellist Fabrizio Mazzetta, Nicholas Southwick on flute, and guests, violinist Jordan Delphos and pianist Nicolas Giusti, in ensemble with faculty member soprano Greta Feeney.

Ms. Feeney made her international concert debut at the age of 21 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and her professional operatic debut at the age of 24 with the San Francisco Opera. She participated for two seasons in the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program, and subsequently chosen for the prestigious Adler Fellowship. She is a Baroque specialist and has performed as a soloist in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Tully Hull, and the Herbst Theater.
Ms. Feeney asserts that Mozart’s genius sometimes eclipses that of his most influential predecessors. She says, “The richness and complexity of baroque musical textures, along with extreme tempi and dynamics eventually gave way to the elegance, clarity, balance, and symmetry that defined the music of the classical era.” The CCM Mozart and Masters of the Baroque concert will not only highlight Baroque music but will most vividly present its exuberant style and detail-centric quality for a terrific musical experience.

The diverse and engaging line-up of the Concord Conservatory of Music Concert Series brings jazz, bluegrass, and classical music to Concord. The concert series is made possible for our community by donations from our supporters and sponsorship by the Middlesex Savings Bank.
