Class Time: Fridays (1 pm-4 pm or 6pm-9pm)
This class covers the basics of mold making and casting, along with foundry processes. Students will begin by learning life casting techniques using alginate and plaster. Then, students learn the principles of "draft" while making sand molds that molten aluminum will be cast into. Finally, each student will make a rubber mold of a sculpture or object of their choice to be cast in either bronze or aluminum using the ceramic shell mold process.
Plaster, sand, and ceramic shell materials will be provided. Students will be charged for aluminum, bronze, and other mold-making materials accordingly.
Welding, jewelry making, stone carving, and figure sculpture workshops are available. Custom workshops are available as well, including: wedding ring workshops, teen welding intensives, and more!
