Dr. Linda Charmaraman of the Wellesley Centers for Women and Dr. Catherine Delcourt of the Wellesley College Computer Science department teamed up to design an app for middle-school-age youth that encourages healthy social media use. In summer 2019, Drs. Charmaraman and Delcourt, along with summer interns Ashley Kim ’19, Cynthia Serrano Najera ’21, and Payton Vandergriff ’22, hosted a workshop at a local school to teach middle schoolers how to use social media in healthy ways and get their feedback on design prototypes of the app Drs. Charmaraman and Delcourt are creating. During this program, the team will review their progress and next steps.
This program is part of the Social Change Dialogues hosted by the Wellesley Centers for Women. It is free and open to the public. Coffee, tea, and cookies will be served.
