Willy Mason has been performing and recording his plain spoken and philosophically intrepid songs internationally for 15 years. First introduced to the world by Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes he has gone on to work with some of the most influential artists of the day including Mumford and Sons, The Chemical Brothers, Radiohead, Laura Marling, Roseanne Cash, Jamie Woon, and Lianne La Havas. Equally at home in the charts and in the basement, he has consistently worked to redefine the norms of success, helping to bring house concerts and lyrical songcraft to the mainstream in the UK, and mentoring up and coming artists in the US. Called the best songwriter of his generation by Steve Earle and a hobo Holden Caulfield by Rolling Stone, Willy’s songs deal with the tragedy and confusion of life in the 21st century, telling stories with a reassuring honesty and a consistent undercurrent of hope, love, and connection.

Acoustic folk set to an island pace.

To say music is in his blood is an understatement. Nephew to James Taylor, Livingston Taylor, and Kate Taylor, Isaac Taylor’s musical foundation is obviously a strong one. While he admits he was never a great student, it was through connections made during his years at Tabor Academy and Berklee School Of Music that led him to recording his debut album, Peace in the Valley. During that time he met Andrew and Brad Barr (The Slip, Barr Brothers), whose friendship and encouragement helped him find his voice.

Fast forward to a few years ago, when the Barr Brothers invited Taylor to open for them on a Canadian tour. Despite being admittedly “nervous as hell”, Taylor says it was the success of that 8-show stint that gave him the motivation to record his songs. He tracked 9 originals and 2 covers at the refurbished recording studio within Columbus Theatre in Providence, with Andrew and Brad Barr backing him up. Since the release of Peace in the Valley, Taylor has opened shows for Martin Sexton, Leif Vollebekk and the David Wax Museum.
