The MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) recently announced its plans to reopen to the public on Saturday, October 9, 2021. While museum attendance is free to the public, advance registration is now required. Tickets are available as two-hour time slots for the grand reopening event on October 9 and general admission registration is also open for future dates. The museum reopening event will be filled with a host of activities, and for the first time since March 2020 guests will have the opportunity to experience MAAM’s three inaugural exhibitions in person: Joana Vasconcelos: Valkyrie Mumbet; Game Changers: Video Games & Contemporary Art; and Ghost Of A Dream: Yesterday Is Here.
The grand reopening on October 9, 2021 will feature a day of family-friendly activities. Patrons will have the chance to sketch a live performance by local musician Adi Sun or draw inspiration from performance artist Cassandré Charles and MassArt professor and artist Edward Monovich. Visitors will also be invited to create their own MAAM merch and participate in a special artmaking activity led by MassArt students.
